PS1 Title Sequel Solatorobo To Be Released In Europe

Teaming up with Namco Bandai, Nintendo is releasing a sequel (somewhat) to 1999′s RPG title for the Playstation One, Tail Concerto. Due for release later this year, Solatorobo tells the story of Red Savarin, a dog with human like abilities and the ability to morph into human shape.

Red battles it out with giant robots and machines on the floating islands of the Shepherd Republic. Originally released by Namco Bandai in Japan in October 2010, Nintendo will handle marketing and distribution in Europe and nearby territories. There is no US release date so far.

Solatorobo’s release just goes to show that the Nintendo DS system isn’t going anywhere anytime soon–even after the 3DS has rolled out. Don’t count this platform out yet.
