Professor Layton And The Last Specter: New Trailer and Release Date Announced

The fourth entry in Level 5′s puzzle-solving adventure game Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the Last Specter has a new trailer out and it offers a great peek into what made this series great. The Nintendo DS title also has a release date for the USA – October 18th. Professor Layton and the Last Specter lets players take the role of renowned archaeologist and genteel man about town Professor Hershel Layton and his rambunctious halfpint sidekick, the irrepressible Luke Triton.

This title was originally developed for the Japanese market and went by the name “Professor Layton and the Specter’s Flute.” This installment begins a new trilogy and is a prequel to the previous three games. In Professor Layton and the Last Specter, we see Layton investigating a mysterious giant’s destruction of the town of Misthallery.

The Last Spectre features a new assistant for Professor Layton, Emmy. Remember, this is the period before Layton met his famous sidekick Luke. Professor Layton and the Last Specter showcases the unique blend of brain-teasing mini-game puzzles and action adventure plot lines that has made the Professor Layton a DS hit. Solve a puzzle, move the story forward. This may seem like a simple formula but it yields hours of fun. Get an eyeful of what makes the Layton series such a fan favorite and check out its new trailer.
