Nintendo DS: 100 Year Old Granny Loves Playing the Nintendo DS

The usual question to people who have reached at least the eighties would be “What is your secret to long life?” The usual answer would be a narration of good living, healthy food, exercise and the like. You know the drill. What if you ask our dear grannies and grandpas this question instead? : “What makes you enjoy life more?” You may also ask, “What keeps your mind sharp?” There are, after all, some really old people who don’t enjoy their lives anymore and may even suffer from memory problems and other health conditions.

This is not the case with Kit Connell. She is already 100 years old but she does not let that get her down. She wants to keep her mind sharp and active. However, she won’t be lecturing you about the value of great books, such as War and Peace. She is, instead, playing her Nintendo DS, which is a gift from her daughter. She is still a grandma, after all. She wants to get herself comfortable at first, settling down on her couch. Then, she would sip her cup of tea and then play video games. The last part of the list is not typical but has turned out to be extra helpful.

She does work on her brain in other ways, too. She does brain training and plays board games as expected of someone her age. She even goes to Art Academy. The Nintendo gameplay time that makes her extra special. Unlike other grandmas who would probably discourage the use of video game devices and consoles, she actually advises that children should all be using the Nintendo DS – even in school! Was she talking about educational software? Well, she might be but still “videogames in the classroom” was mentioned. That is some grandma. Way to go, Kit Connell.
