Diablo 3: Beta Conjures Mixed Reactions
Time and again, we say that Diablo 3 is mythical. Well, it is close to becoming some sort of myth. At least, this time around we have been treated with a teaser trailer. The title has been announced back in 2008 and it has been all of fourteen years since the franchise’s last offering. Now, the closed beta is out.
Things should be perfect, right? Wrong. Those who have participated in the beta have mixed reactions about the game. Hardcore fans complain that Blizzard has given in to the pressure for an early release. There are a lot of conflicting opinions. Just visit the official Diablo Battlenet forum and read some of these views. There are those who feel that the beta, which is less than two hours long, is worth the wait. Others express their preference for a full game beta so that they can test out for bugs and other stuff. There are people who find some aspects frustrating and some parts just slightly interesting.
There are also fans who like the game but they do not want their stash placed near the town’s portal. The good thing really about the beta and about any beta for that matter is that participants are expected to leave their feedback anyway. It is just that there is some large disparity among some opinions. Yet another beta tester liked how the AI plays out with the Templar. The character does not just take part in idle chats but also reacts during quests. The tester is hoping that this will be true for all the companions in the game. He also likes the aesthetics of the game and how armors differ according to class.
There is a thread wherein fans can talk about what and how they feel about Diablo 3 using a couple of words alone. “Pure awesome” and “already uninstalled” are completely different from each other but have been both posted.
