Diablo 3: A Closer Look at the Monk Class

Blizzard are certainly trailing Diablo 3 at the moment. As if we weren’t excited enough to see the final product a slew of videos have come our way recently in the form of developer videos and videos trailering the various class of characters we will eventually get to choose from. The first such video was the Demon Hunter, and last week we were introduced to the Barbarian.

This weeks video gives us a closer look at the Monk. This character class uses super-human agility to outrun enemies. The man can wield swords, staves and other melee weapons but really comes into his own by using his spirit energy, which allows him to perform two special moves. The first is “Wave of Light” and the second is the “Seven-sided strike”. The spirit can also be used to create Mantras, that protect and heal the Monk and also his allies. It also lowers the defenses of the enemies around him. The Monks train for years in the floating sky temple and train their bodies and minds to perfection, so that they can carry out the will of their 1001 gods. Their devotion is what drives them, and what feeds their spirit, that can be recharged by striking repeated blows upon enemies.

With so many great classes to choose from picking a character in Diablo 3. I will probably be a Demon Hunter, but what do you guys want to be?
