Crysis 3: Game Set For Reveal Today but New Leaks

So, the team working on Crysis 3 has turned out to be about as watertight as a paperbag. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official details that were expected at noon, but at the time of writing this article nothing had been published. However, this morning a new screenshot appeared online that has confirmed what we all thought. That Crysis 3 will be set in New York.

The teased Nano-suited and booted Soldier is stood watching and alien craft that is lurking ahead. The graphics are certainly looking very impressive, though admittedly I don’t think we can expect anything less from Crytek who have been proundly flaunting their CryENGINE 3 for neigh on a year. If you get a chance to check out the Titanic reconstruction video I promise you will not be disappointed. Funnily enough as I write these words the pop-up notification informs me that EA have indeed sent me the Crysis 3 official reveal press release. What good timing is that?

According to the document that I have just received, players will become “the Prophet” in this sandbox shooter. 2047 New York has been officially confirmed as the setting and the area has been encased in a quarantined Nanodome, that resembles greatly a futuristic rainforest Eden Project. What fans will be really excited about is of course seeing the CryENGINE tech in action. Cevat Yerli CEO of Crytek says that the game will deliver “seven unique themes”. Something that the CryENGINE is undoubtedly capable of.

As was leaked by EA Origin on Friday, fans will have the opportunity to pre-order Crysis 3 – Hunter Edition. This edition lays the focus on the multiplayer action, pre-odering this pack entitles you to bonus XP, virtual dog tags, and a unique bow skin (though presumably not unique to you, but unique to those who pre-order). Some retailers are also offering other pre-order incentives in the form of DLC packs. These are the Overkill Pack (also outed by EA Origin on Friday), the Stalker Pack, and the predator Pack. Each pack will equip you with the tools to really tailor your gameplay to those individual styles of fighter.
