Batman – Arkham City: DC Comics Releases New Game-Based Action Figures

Leveraging the substantial fan base generated by Arkham Asylum and Batman – Arkham City, DC Comics has announced that it will be releasing action figures based on characters for the game. Both old and new fans of the open world game titles will have to wait some time to get their hands on these action figures since they will go on sale only in June and November.

We’re not talking about just one or two action figures, too.  Arkham Asylum and Batman – Arkham City have captured such a wide swath of the Batman fan’s mindscape that even minor figures are so in demand as to warrant their own action figure. All told, a total of five action figures have been announced. The five regular character action figures to be released will be the Dark Knight himself, A Clown Thug, Azrael, Ra’s Al Ghul, and The Penguin. These regular character’s action figures will be released at toy stores and comic book shops in September.

For the super collectors out there, there is also a deluxe line that has two launch dates. Mr Freeze and Killer Croc will be available this coming June while the, presumably more deluxe, Titan Joker (and boy, is he a looker) is slated for release this coming November. No wonder the Titan Joker has such a late release. He is, after all, everyone’s favorite Arkham character to hate.
