Assassin’s Creed 3: Game Improvements Listed
One of the biggest complaints of video games about their favorite series involves “reskinning.” One common refrain among fans feeling cheated is when the series releases a new installment that involves nothing more than a rehashed version of the first game in the long-running series.
At a minimum, players are looking for engaging content changes and technical enhancements. Falling short of this would make developers susceptible to suspicions that they are just milking their fan base with flimsy releases and thinly veiled rehashing. Thankfully, according to the creative director behind Assassin’s Creed 3, Alex Hutchinson, the latest installment to the long running historical assassination action adventure series will carry important changes that aim to make the game relevant and produce more immediate fan gratification. In a talk at GDC, Hutchinson said that the installment allows for a quicker start-it won’t take long from the time of launching the game until the player finds himself knee-deep in action. In addition to the fast-paced action, Hutchinson said the game come with more meaningful secondary characters whom players would look forward to interacting with in-game.

As part of the quick-start ethos, the new setting allows players to play the game straightaway without having to be familiar with past series installments. Hutchinson also said that Assassin’s Creed 3 marks Ubisoft’s removal of game play mechanics it had issues with on previous installments.
