Resident Evil – Revelations: Spelling Mistake Embarrasses Capcom Chief
Oops! There it is! During a Game Developers Conference interview, Capcom Senior VP for planning and business Development, Christian Svensson voiced his embarrassment regarding the funky misspelling faux pas for the upcoming Resident Evil 6 cover art. Instead of Resident Evil 6 – Revelations the box art said ‘Revelaitons.’
He said that it was embarrassing and Capcom has updated its procedures to make sure this little spelling blunder doesn’t happen again. He said that there were seveal departments that had the responsibility of checking the spelling. Hopefully, the new procedures will prevent any further snafus. Still, the misspelling is on about 90,000 box unit. Svensson even joked that if people have a copy and it is shrink-wrapped, it is a special new edition. He might be on to something. Considering the large volumes shipped for any single game, a “limited run” of 90,000 erroneously printed units might provide a nice little unintentional collector’s edition that might be worth some money in the future. Specially if the game goes on to be a big hit. Indeed, the Resident Evil series is already well-known and established. Svensson repeated previous Capcom claims that Resident Evil 6 will be the biggest installment in the series so far.

Covering other topics, Svensson declined to say anything regarding Mega Man Legends 3′s abrupt cancellation. He also didn’t close the door on the possibility that there might be a US release for Ace Attorney Investigations 2. He also mentioned that sales figures for Asura’s Wrath were in line with Capcom’s expectations.
