3DS: Justin Bieber Advert Is A Crime Against Humanity
Is there anyone out there that is not plagued by the Biebermania that has gripped the entire nation, make that, the world? That everyone, including Nintendo’s 3DS, cannot contain its ridiculous obsession with Usher’s protege and Selena Gomez’ boy toy seems to be true. Because Nintendo has finally released its recent video ad featuring a Justin Bieber Christmas single. It is his duet with Mariah Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas is You”. It was 1994 when the video to the song was first released. Just about the year Justin came into existence. The clip starts with the barely 18 heartthrob doing his moves at a Macy’s department store while 41-year-old Mariah does some flirting in front of the camera. And then Justin and Mariah does some sleigh cuddling before getting the gifts from Santa and shoving it into the fans.
I can forgive Nintendo for its past misconducts since it also did some brilliant masterpieces over the years. But the serious airtime for a novelty tune from the teen sensation of America is simply shameful. Unacceptable. But if you can resist gagging up, just go straight to 1:58 of the clip and see for yourself.
Can you think of one sensible reason why Nintendo coughed up a load of cash for all these horror? I mean, aside from the plethora of product placement at the 2-minute mark, do you think it is all worth it? If it means sales volume would go up the roof, then it probably is. Well, at least for the tween girl population. Sigh. Now, everyone else has to look for another favorite holiday song.
