The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim: Guide To Beating Encumbrance
I don’t know about you but I love an exploit. I discovered this one completely by accident. Now I’m not saying that I was the first one to find it, I am sure it is all over the internet already, but I stumbled across this little nifty trick completely by accident while I was messing around and I thought I would share it with you just in case you hadn’t heard about it.
Right, we all know how annoying it is that you can only carry three hundred odd pounds of equipment, but this little exploit allows you to walk at a fairly normally speed even if you are carrying too much. Once you get to archery level 60 you are able to unlock the Ranger perk, which gives you the ability to walk at normal speed with an arrow cocked to your bow (yes lets all laugh at the word “cocked”). Because this perk seems to override Skyrim’s encumbrance/ walk-slowly-when-overburdened thing, you will find that, as long as you have armed your bow you will be able to carry unlimited amounts of weight whilst still being able to walk fairly normally.

Another nifty thing to know about encumbrance is that horses are not effected by it, so providing you are sat upon your horse, you will still be able to fast travel. These little tricks to beating encumbrance will really help you out if you want to move house or sell loads of heavy armor and other items. Also if you are collecting Dragon Bones to make armor and you don’t want to keep travelling back to your house to store them. Lydia or your hireling will also take some of your weight.
It’s done! Patch 1.3 for Skyrim released! Look what you can expect from these Patch!
