The Witcher 2 – Assassins of Kings: Find the Assassin’s Creed Easter Egg
It looks like CD Projekt RED, the developers of The Witcher 2 – Assassins of Kings have a bit of a sense of humour. When they are not animating numerous sex scenes for the protagonist Geralt of Rivia to enjoy they are busy hiding lots of fun Easter Eggs for us to find. The really fun one is the Assassin’s Creed reference that they have hidden for us to find. Follow this guide to find it!
The Assassin’s Creed Easter Egg that you will find in The Witcher 2 – Assassins of Kings can be find in the prologue- During the Barricade mission, where you have to destroy a gate by using a ballista, you have to use scaffolding to scale a wall, you have to slide down from the wall on to the scaffold and then climb down the scaffold to get to the ground. Once on the ground you will be met in combat with a few rebellion soldiers, dispatch with them and make your way to the heavily fortified ballista. Clear the square of your enemies using all the lethal force you can muster, walk further back, behind the ballista and look to your right beside a house. There you will see a dead man dressed in a white robe with a red belt (Altair Ibnu La Ahad reference) laying face down on top of a broken hay wagon. If you look up you will see a wooden ledge with birds perching on it. This is where an assassin would usually survey his surroundings before performing the famed “leap of faith”.
Geralt will also make a quip along the lines of “I guess they’ll never learn”, indicating that a leap from such a height is impossible. You will also unlock a hidden ability that called simply “Assassin”. This neat little award will give you a damage bonus on the attacks that hit the enemys in the back. This is, of course, a reference to the infamous stab in the back method of assassination in Assassin’s Creed.
