Batman – Arkham City: Lost Easter Egg

Batman – Arkham City is a very strong contender for game of the year. As more people enjoy exploring the dark world of Arkham City the more examples of Rocksteady’s genius are uncovered. This time is is in the form of an Easter Egg. Now we all love a good Easter Egg, they might me a distraction from the main storyline but it is always fun to go hunting for them. Thez are likelittle trophoes in themselves.

There is a reference to Lost in the Arkham City game. How do you catch it? Well, you have to the Steelmill a second time. You will have to look at the large TV screen where you will see “The Joker”. Watch the movie and you will hear the villain say, “How come it all ended in a church?”. I love these little nuggets from developers. It feels like the game is a living, breathing labor of love for the people who made it. Recently an Easter Egg was found in the hit release Saints Row – The Third that calls for the 3rd installment in the Valve series Half-Life. It just goes to show that the people who make these games are real people and there personalities are reflected in these fun to find hidden gems.

If there’s an “Arkham 3″ and after playing the fantastically phenomenal game so many times now, there are obvious easter eggs, that lead to a possible 3rd Arkham title, Ashes of Arkham sounds like a decent title, hope they choose that one, :-) !
    I hope we see:
Harley Quinn-(She’s preggers with Joker’s child, hope you have an encounter with her in a Gotham Hospital, that would be brilliant!).
Hush-(He appeared early on in the church, when beating Joker’s goons, then had a role in the side mission, “Identity Theft”, I think HE will be made into the lead villain for Arkham 3, though at this point, it’s just wishful thinking, hope it happens anyways!).
Azrael-(He appeared in the very beginning of the game, when your Bruce Wayne and your fighting the thugies, look up and zoom in at the rooftops, you’ll see him. Then you have to meet him and scan his symbols that he leaves behind, in the side mission, “Watcher In The Wings”, scanning all of his symbols leads you to the church, where he reveals a dark prophecy about ALL of Gotham City, wonder what consequences this will have in the possible third installment)?
    And lastly…SCARECROW!!!
(Sadly he isn’t in Arkham City, but, there are various hidden gems that lead to his possible return: you find his mask on giant scaffolding as part of a Riddler challenge, there’s a boat marked “FALCONE SHIPPING” hacking the words “CITY OF TERROR” with the sequencer allows you to go into the ship, where it is revealed by paying attention to the environment, that he has allied himself with the Falcones and is using insects in his fear experiments, on Bats Cryptographic Sequencer there’s a computerised voice giving out numbers, translating these numbers reveals the following messages: “You will pay for what you have done to me.” “I will return, Batman.” here’s an obvious Scarecrow hint “Fear will tear Gotham to shreds!” During Protocol 10, go to Krank Co. Toys, where you will find dead men dressed like the Scarecrow, in rags and wearing Scarecrow masks and finally he seems to be working with Riddler, when you’ve defeated the 2nd Riddler room, use a Remote Control Batarang, you’ll find large cannisters with Scarecrow’s red symbol.)
It would appear that both Hush and Scarecrow will be massive villains in a possible 3rd Arkham game and in the mainstream comics, Scarecrow was once Hush’s psychiatrist when Hush was a boy, so they have a long history.
We’ll have to wait and see.
